What Is youthACES for College Bound Seniors?
It is a way for economically eligible graduating high school seniors, who are TASP exempt or who have passed all three parts of the TAKS, who desire to continue their education toward earning a degree in a chosen field of endeavor or who want to explore their options before deciding if they want to work or continue to learn.
In partnership with colleges and universities throughout the region, MRGDC is giving graduating seniors the opportunity to excel and succeed at getting a higher education, which will lead them to excellence and success in their chosen field of endeavor.
Selected College Bound participants will be required to live on campus under supervision of college personnel, and they will be assisted with financial aid preparation or applications to be able to attend the school of their choice in the Fall & Spring semester. Tuition beyond the summer program is not guaranteed.
The students will concurrently participate in a work study program at an hourly rate of $5.15 per hour, better preparing them for the world of work.
