What Is youthACES for 15-year-olds?
It is a way for eligible students to gain basic skills and experience and knowledge in the workplace through service learning. It involves wage-based incentives (up to $309.00) to keep them in the program and they will be monitored throughout their school careers until they achieve gainful employment.
Students who qualify will be involved in a Basic Skills or Service Learning program that will take place outside the Workforce Center. It will give the students the opportunity to become familiar with working conditions and expectations of completion of projects or assignments outside the school environment.
The program is designed to not only teach young people basic, business related skills and expose them to the working world, but it will also give them a sense of pride and build confidence in their abilities.
We hope that through the youthACES experience, every participant will achieve success in a chosen career and become a contributing member of the working society.
