THE MID-BORDER BUSINESS NETWORK - "YOUR ROAD TO SUCCESS"

NEWS:

The Middle Rio Grande Development Council has created the Mid-Border Business Network to offer business owners access to a variety of services to help you grow your business. The Mid-Border Business Network is a clearinghouse which offers referrals to sources which can help guide you along that often bumpy road of entrepreneurship and to help you avoid some of the pitfalls along the way as you grow your business. Additionally, the Middle Rio Grande Workforce Board in concert with its operator, Middle Rio Grande Development Council, is currently establishing Business Resource Centers in each of the five Texas Workforce Centers (Eagle Pass, Uvalde, Del Rio, Carrizo Springs and Crystal City) as the foundation piece to a collaboration that includes three chambers of commerce, Southwest Texas Junior College, and a host of non-profit agencies. The Business Rresource Centers are the Board’s contribution to an integrated regional strategy to outreach employers at all levels of development through the Mid-Border Business Network. For successful, well established employers, the Business Resource Centers will be a place where they can come and see what the Mid-Border Business Network is doing, who are the various partners of that Network, and what those partners can provide to business. For these employers, the Business Resource Center is where they can find a wealth of timely, useful information, while tapping into the other resources available that enhance labor exchange. For struggling businesses, the Business Resource Centers will be a place where they can find resources both in print, and web-based. Each Business Resource Center will have three computer workstations with computers loaded with Microsoft Word 2003 Professional, Quickbooks, and Quicken. SBDC has agreed to provide training on this software as demand warrants. For more information about the Mid-Border Business Network or the Business Resource Centers, please contact Patricia Urban at 830-774-4741 or your local workforce center. You can also dial 211 to obtain more information.
